"Celebrate Joy" for D-lish Scraps

Hi Everyone,

A Christmas share for me today which is a rare thing as I don’t normally scrap a lot of Christmas photos… I’m not really sure why, as it is a big deal around our house!

Inspiration came from that beautiful image Amanda put up on the Facebook group The Scrap Suite
with the teal and pinks and whites in it… if you are not yet in the group, be sure to check it out, you’ll see heaps of inspiration and get sneak peaks of kits and more ūüôā

This layout started with the Vellum Stars in the Plus One kit.  There were quite a few included in this kit and I sorted through them and noticed that there were 2 that did not have the pop of black print on them.  I knew straight away they would be perfect for a Christmas layout in pastel colours.

I then had a bit of a brain wave to use these¬†Wood Veneer Embroidery-Hoops¬†and I thought I would try and turn them into a Christmas Bauble. I did this by mounting it onto some pattern paper and then adding a bow. ¬†I added the¬†Wood Veneer Hearts¬†which I added some Inka Gold to for subtle shimmer. ¬†I’ve added them in a way that helps make the bauble round.

I’ve also used some plain¬†paper flowers, I liked these as they were a similar ‘star’ shape in a subtle way so they were a good fit.

To finish the layout I added the Enamel shapes stars too which were a nice touch and matched the star shape of the vellum and of course some Sequins.

Products used:

Wood Veneer Hearts
Enamel shapes
Paper Flowers
Wood Veneer Embroidery-Hoops
Past Kit Bit (Vellum Stars)

"Happy Day" for D-lish Scraps – December Inspiration Board

Hi all,

Time I get to share the December Inspiration board “Peaches and Cream”. ¬†As soon as I saw this mood board I thought OH YES, L.O.V.E!!

It is very me so creating with it was ohh so much fun!

I started with the beautiful ombre pattern paper from the Maggie Holmes Gather collection and then had the idea to create a giant shaker pocket for the background.  Punched circles and sequins were stitched inside and wash added for a little more detail.

I added lots of paper layers to my photo mat including one of my favourite doilies and some paper flowers.  The perfect finishing touch was the white sequin bow, a D-lish scraps must have.  For the stitch-able heart I painted it with white acrylic paint and let dry.  I then stitched with some pink thread.

Here are the close ups so you can see all the details.

Until next time,

Gwen xo

"Love, Love, Love You" for D-lish Scraps

Happy Thursday D-lish fans, Gwen here again today for another layout share.

I’m going brights with this one with one of my favourite colour combos Pink and Yellow!

This layout actually started out with the hand scripting. ¬†I saw a quick little video on Facebook and it made it look so easy I thought I’d give it a try. ¬†So, I pulled out a large piece of water colour paper and just went about scripting the word ‘love’ over and over. ¬†I chose two of my favourites, fussy cut them out and stitched them onto my background. ¬†Everything else was added around this design element.

¬†I’ve combined a tag from a¬†Past Kit Bit¬†and the¬†Wordfetti¬†to create the base of my lower cluster and added some¬†Resin Embellishments¬†and¬†Enamel Dots/Shapes¬†to finish it off.

and of course, I had to add a bit of sparkle and a pop of yellow with this Sequin bow and a Heirloom Flower.

To add to my bold title, and add interest to the top of the layout, I thought I’d make a feature out of the¬†Enamel Dots,¬† mix them with paint drops for added subtle texture and some other elements including the Resin Embellishments which I love.

Products used:

Sequin bows
Heirloom Flowers
Resin Embellishments
Enamel Dots/Shapes
Past Kit Bit
Printed Tag Pack – Dip Dye

"Nine" for D-lish Scraps

Hi All,

Back again today to share another layout for D-lish scraps.

This one started out with the idea to use up some of my tags.  You will already know I love using them in-between my layers and for this page I wanted to use a stack of them layered up with a paper baggie to create a large photo mat that would form the base of my page.

I’ve added in the wooden hearts¬†to match the felt ones and round out the layout. ¬†I found the cute pink wooden beads by Pink Fresh Studio in the clearance section and they were the perfect pop of pink to match the strip on the right hand side. ¬†Of course the perfect touch of sparkle was the Sequin Bow and¬†Sequins.

and of course I have some close ups for you ūüôā

The Puffy Alphabet Stickers are the perfect size and in such a classic font, I know I am going to use a stack of these and I am totally in love with the printed tags that come in a stack of colours.

I am totally crushing on these wood veneer hearts too!

Here you can see the tags layered together to form the left hand side of the main photo mat.

Products used:

5×7 Paper Bags
Printed Tag Packs
Wood Veneer Hearts
Sequin Bow
Puffy Alphabet Stickers

"Sweet" for D-lish Scraps – November Inspiration Board

Hi everyone,
A quick share today – the new Inspiration board is out over at the Scrap Suite and it’s a beauty!

I think it’s really different and at first I was a little “dear in the headlights” with all that purple, but in the end I’m super happy with how it all tuned out. ¬†I love these as they challenge you to use colour combinations you wouldn’t normally and that a great thing!

and some close ups…

including some details of the background for you… I used the peacock stencil from the store with some Whipped Spackle for a subtle background layer, added a little glimmer mist here and there and then some vellum which I fringed up and sewed on!
Thanks for popping by,
