HAPPY CHRISTMAS | CUT TO YOU

Hi Creative Friends,

Wishing you all a wonderful Christmas Eve, Eve!!!  I have one last share for you for the year before we get into Christmas week and all the magic of this busy season.  I have a huge week planned, so you might notice we are a little quite on Social media, not to worry, I have an even bigger 2019 planned and you’ll hear more about all of that soon!  The website will be open all Christmas however, there will be some small delays in shipping with all orders being shipped in the New Year.

Now, onto my layout! I may have mentioned before, I only tend to scrap Christmas during December, so today’s share is another Christmas layout, this time using one of our latest Christmas designs “Stacked Presents Background“.  This is one of my favourites from the latest release.

Here is the cut files I’ve used:

The idea for the design of the page was inspired by the cut file, this is why I love working with them so much!  I knew I wanted to cut it out quite large and it would really create the ‘framework’ for the page, all I had to do was back the shapes and add my photo!  If you order this one as a CUSTOM cut, this is the size it will be for you too!

I decided on the ‘Tis the Season‘ collection by Cocoa Vanilla Studios, it is a Christmas collection, however, I really only have the papers that are quite generic and could be used for lots of things.  I love the softness of this collection, it’s so versatile.  I also had a very small scrap piece of Black and White paper from the ‘Colour Me Happy‘ collection which I’ve also used.

Once the cut file was backed with my papers, I positioned it onto a white background.  I was looking for a clean look for this page and I do love the ‘white on white’ look.  I then took some time to add stitching to all of the presents in the stack.  I find these small details really add to the page.

Next, I matted my photo, again in a scrap from the Christmas collection, stitched around the edge and position on my page.  I’ve mounted with foam tape as well just for some dimension and to separate it a little from the background.

Now came the fun bit, adding all the embellishments!  I’ve gone with some stickers and die cuts here and there from the collection; not too much as I didn’t want to cover up my beautiful cut file!  I also found a couple of bows to add to my present stack, I love how cute these are!  You can see below that I’ve added some Holly too as a little gift decoration and a banner at the top of the page that says “Christmas Day”.

To finish off the page, I’ve added in some Enamel dots, also from the ‘Tis the Season’ collection.  They fill in some gaps, add some detail and helps draw the eye around the page.  It’s a pretty simple and clean design, and I love how it worked out.

Thanks for popping by today, I hope this has inspired you to get some Christmas scrapbooking done and I’ve left links to everything so if you’d like to re-create this page you can gather the supplies you will need.

Also, a reminder to join our Facebook group (if you haven’t already) – CUT to YOU HQ for more inspiration from the design team and lovers of our files.  I’m also having giveaways over there, so if you like free stuff, pop on by.

Until next time,
