Hi Creative Friends,

I hope you are all doing well!  I’m on the Cocoa Vanilla Studio blog today with another share for you, this time for our ‘Holidays/Vacations’ theme.  For this page, I couldn’t go past the Endless Summer collection. The photo for this page was taken on a recent trip to Sydney for a cruise over the Summer holidays. **A little side note, this collection is still available as a bundle here for just $15!!**

I don’t have a lot of this collection left in my stash as it is from 2016, just one full 12 x 12 pattern paper ‘Sunbleached’.  It’s a really pretty ombre so perfect for a background.  I did also have a few half sheets and scraps, so pulled out a cut file to help stretch the pattern paper a little further.  These two cut files are from CUT to YOU.  Summer Days and Sunny Skies.

I then went about backing both the cut files with a mixture of papers, including ‘Sweet Treats’ which is a woodgrain and ‘Chill’ which is a lovely mint green stripe and floral B side. I just mixed and matched the papers making sure to alternate so that no two patterns were side by side.

Now, you can also see that some of the clouds were not backed, this is because I ran out of pattern paper, I’ve just been strategic in choosing which ones to leave unbacked, so you can’t tell; it just looks as though it was part of the design and meant to be that way.

I have also raised up the cut file, just to give it some dimension off the background of my page.

For the title, I backed it in just the two pattern papers to separate out the words a little.

Next up, I’ve mat my photo and stitched around the edge as I normally do and then positioned the two cut files and my photo on the page.  It was now time to find some matching embellishments to finish the page off.

I did have some of the Accessory Stickers left in my stash so I’ll pulled a couple of those, I also have some of the ‘Die Cut Ephemera‘ and I’ve added a few pieces of those as well.

I’ve also added some of the ‘Wood Veneer’ pieces – they are a perfect match for this collection, the wood used is so warm in colour and they are the perfect dimension for adding interest but not making the page too bulky.

I’ve also cut some elements from the ‘This and That’ pattern paper; a great buy if your looking for little elements to add to a page.  I also had this paper flower from the ‘Summer Blooms’ pack.  The enamel heart is from the ‘Free Spirit’ collection; I dug deep into my stash to find that one!

Lastly, I’ve added in some enamel shapes from the collection and called the page done.

Thanks for popping by today, I hope our current theme inspires you to get some of your Holiday/Vacation snaps documented and onto layouts; I know I for one have so many of these unscrapped so it was fun to play along and I’m really happy with how the page turned out.

Until next time,
