"Nine" for D-lish Scraps

Hi All,

Back again today to share another layout for D-lish scraps.

This one started out with the idea to use up some of my tags.  You will already know I love using them in-between my layers and for this page I wanted to use a stack of them layered up with a paper baggie to create a large photo mat that would form the base of my page.

I’ve added in the wooden hearts to match the felt ones and round out the layout.  I found the cute pink wooden beads by Pink Fresh Studio in the clearance section and they were the perfect pop of pink to match the strip on the right hand side.  Of course the perfect touch of sparkle was the Sequin Bow and Sequins.

and of course I have some close ups for you 🙂

The Puffy Alphabet Stickers are the perfect size and in such a classic font, I know I am going to use a stack of these and I am totally in love with the printed tags that come in a stack of colours.

I am totally crushing on these wood veneer hearts too!

Here you can see the tags layered together to form the left hand side of the main photo mat.

Products used:

5×7 Paper Bags

Wood Veneer Hearts

"Sweet" for D-lish Scraps – November Inspiration Board

Hi everyone,
A quick share today – the new Inspiration board is out over at the Scrap Suite and it’s a beauty!

I think it’s really different and at first I was a little “dear in the headlights” with all that purple, but in the end I’m super happy with how it all tuned out.  I love these as they challenge you to use colour combinations you wouldn’t normally and that a great thing!

and some close ups…

including some details of the background for you… I used the peacock stencil from the store with some Whipped Spackle for a subtle background layer, added a little glimmer mist here and there and then some vellum which I fringed up and sewed on!
Thanks for popping by,
Gwen

"My Happiness" for D-lish Scraps

Happy Monday everyone,

Hoping to brighten the start of the work week with some scrappy inspiration.   I have a layout to share with you inspired by Charm’s sketch challenge as part of the October Cybercrop over at the Scrap Suite.

I am a sucker for a sketch as it gives me “somewhere to start” and takes some of the thinking out of the design process AND you can still add your own touches, and change things up a little if you like!

and here is the details of the challenge:
In my usual style I have switched some things up… for example, I replaced the large bow with the butterfly which has gone through my Minc machine and that large Wood Veneer element.  I also switched out the love heart doily for a regular round one.  I have also added smaller doilies cut into 2 pieces to create a base for my title and smaller embellishment clusters.

You can also see in the top right hand corner the centre part of that chipboard (the heart shape) and I’ve also added in some Resin Flowers.  If you take a look down the bottom of the layout you will see that I have created some texture for the base of my page.  I have used Punchinella to do this!  It makes for a really great mask, simply lay onto your page and push though gel medium or the like, I used Whipped Spackle for this one as it is a lovely white colour and dries super fast.  But you could use mist or paint, they all work really well.

For the chipboard, I painted with acrylic paint and let dry and then misted over with some Heidi Swapp Colour shine.  I have left parts more saturated than others rather than getting a fine and even coat for an interesting effect.  You will also see a tag in there, one of my favourite things to layer.

The Scrap Suite October Cybercrop Challenge

Hi Everyone,

Here today to share to my challenge for this months Cybercrop over at The Scrap Suite!

and here is close up of my sample layout to help inspire you.  I have used lots of paper strips which I have cut with fringing scissors (and some vellum too) to create the base of the page.  I have layered in some washi tape and sewn them all down.

I sure do hope you get a chance this month to play along, I really love seeing your creations and how my challenge has inspired you!

She is my Happy Place for D-lish Scraps

Well hello there,

I can’t tell you how excited I am to be part of the D-lish Scraps team and today I’m here to share the first of my layouts for them.

I thought it would be fun today to share one of the layouts I submitted in my DT application.  It was inspired by the wonderful challenge Krisy set back during the June Cybercrop.  I missed the deadline to upload it, so when the DT call out came up, I thought it would be the perfect choice.

If you are not a member of the Scrap Suite, on Facebook you’re missing a heap of fun, so be sure to check it out.

So here is my layout:

 and this was the challenge:

I loved making the tag and then adding it to a layout.  This is something I would not have done hadn’t it been for the challenge!  and of course, you get some close ups…
I am totally addicted to the Pick N Place Bows, I just cannot get enough of them.  You will also see I’ve used the Paper Doilies which come in a great range 3.5 inch to 6.5 inch AND different designs as well – these are so nice to put in-between your paper layers.

You will also see some Enamel Dots and Sequins.
I also wanted to share a newly created layout today – something bright and fun.
This one features the wonderful new puffy alphabet stickers, I L.O.V.E these!!!  In my close up below, you can see that I have sewn them in place – they are soft enough to go through the sewing machine beautifully.
and the main embellishment cluster complete with tassel.

Here I’ve used the wood veneer square mini pack as an extension of my photo mat and main cluster.  It helps draw the eye along the diagonal of this page.  You will also see the new Paint Chip Tabs layered there in-between my papers… the perfect little touch in the nicest shade of pink.

How cute is this element from the Journal It’s Wordfetti just snip them up and sew them on!  I’ve added a Paper Flower and Sequin to finish out the cluster.
