Another new adventure…

Hi everyone,

Here today to share some super exciting news I have been sitting on for a bit…  Crazy excited to announce that I have been chosen to be part of the D-lish Scraps design team!

I have loved D-lish for many years now so when my term on the Scrapbooking Memories Creative Team finished up, I jumped at the chance to try out and am so very very happy that I now get to design with and share my projects using these gorgeous products with you all!
AND, what a start… have you SEEN this months mood board??
STUNNING RIGHT?  and below is my layout.
I really loved the boxes in the top right hand side image and used that idea as the background for my page.  I was also inspired by the sketch (who wouldn’t be right) and although I didn’t follow it exactly, it was a great starting point for my design.

Totally loving on the Resin Embellishments right now.  And yes, my addiction to Paper baggies continues!

More goodies including a scrappers must have doilies and enamel dots!
Thanks so much for popping by today, and if you’re new, welcome!!  Looking forward to sharing more D-lish Scraps layouts and some other paper adventures with you all again soon.

Hello Scrapbooking Memories….

Well hello there creative friends,

How have you all been?  Today I’m here to share my Scrapbooking Memories Masters entry… but first, I have a little secret to share.

My secret – I wasn’t going to enter this year.. in fact, for the last 3 years I’ve thought about entering but then didn’t.  This year was going to be the same, I had thought about entering and then in my self doubt I decided it would be best I didn’t enter.  Sure, I would never know if I could win, but then I wouldn’t embarrass myself either.  Then… 3 days out from the deadline, I saw a Facebook message from a scrappy acquaintance reminding me that the deadline was 3 days and that there was “still time” to get entries in…. so, I thought, what would I say to Miss 8 about this?? I would say, “You don’t know unless you try” right!  So, 3 days out of the deadline, I started creating, some nights up until midnight to try and get the layouts done in-between my day job, being a mum and wife.  I posted my entry express post JUST in time for the deadline.  I created these 4 layouts from scratch, with photos I had on hand (not printed specially) all in 3 days – that in itself was a miracle!!

Well, I am so glad I did – even though I didn’t win!!!  I am super blessed to have been given 2 honourable mentions and I’ve been invited to be on the Creative Team for 2015 (how cool is that!!)

A huge thank you to my very supportive scrappy husband who had to fend for himself for those 3 days AND put up with me being a little cranky from staying up until the wee hours 🙂 xox

Life lesson – Listen to your own advise, chances are you’re right!

WOW… 204 days, REALLY?

Hi Everyone,

204 days…. That’s 6 months and 22 days… OR, 29 weeks and 1 day.  Yep, that’s quite a long time isn’t it?

So.. what have I been up to in that time and why have I not updated my beloved blog?  Everything and nothing all at the same time!  I’ve been doing LIFE.  We went on a big family holiday to USA to visit Disneyland and see the snow on Big Bear Lake – which was amazing, I said goodbye to our beloved pet cat Hamlet who made it to the ripe old age of 15, My darling husbands mother passed away – she was such an inspiring woman,  I’ve graduated to Year 3 and that sure has been fun.  I heard the saying “Not my Circus, not my Monkey’s and I’ve been using it!  I’ve been making heaps of cards and there are a stack published in Australian Card Making and Papercraft Magazine (note to self, maybe I should update that published work page), I’ve taught at the amazing Workshop Wonders event, oh yeah and I’ve been scrapping just for fun!  No design team work and not a lot of challenges either, “just because pages” as I call them using all the pretty stuff I have collected over the years without restriction which has been so liberating!  and more… however, as a consequence of all this my poor little blog has been neglected!

A lovely lady on face book asked me for my blog address and I gave it to her happily… but then, she asked me, where do you keep your recent work?  Whoops!  Yep, this is a recent as it gets – LOL,  SO, get ready for an update!!  BUT DON’T WORRY – it’s not going to be like great Aunt Gwen who insists you sit through 1000 of her photos from her trip to the city, I’ll just share a few of my favourites.

The one thing I will say about scrapping solely for yourself, is you get a real feel for what your style is and what products you do truly love and it seems I have a “thing” for pastels and Crate Paper.

Thanks for popping by lovelies – here’s hoping it’s not another 204 days!

Yes, another challenge

Well hello there paper lovers!

Here today to share a layout I created for the October D’lish cybercrop.

This sketch was waaaayyyy out of my comfort zone and I knew I wasn’t going to get to them all this weekend so I thought I’d give something different a try.  I’ve seen many a fabulous pie chart on a layout but had never given it a go, so here is my very first ever pie chart!

and here is the finished layout.  Circles are just not my thing (generally) so I did adjust the sketch to have more of a linear feel to it and of course added myself in a few extra layers 🙂
thanks for popping by today lovelies.
