Well hello there…

A huge hello to you all, especially the new faces, I see you there, on my side bar “following” my humble little blog, a big thank you for stopping by 🙂 and your lovely comments.  We have hit 50 woo hoo!

Also, if are an Aussie who has been living under a rock, you may not know about the June Scrapbook Expo.  It’s the best best best scrapbook show of the year and I have been working on a heap of stuff for that.  Some of my work will be on display at the show.  Be sure to check out the web site for the Expo, Tim Holtz will be there and it’s big, and I’m very much looking forward to seeing some of my online buddies there!  So, let me know if you are going!!

More news to share….

Well hello there!

Today I have some more news to share, some good, some not so good…. *sigh*  OK, first the good news, last month you will have read that I applied for 2 design teams, never in my wildest dreams would I have thought that I would have been accepted on both but guess what…it has happened, I am now officially a member of Purple Pumpkin and now Scrap Friends (and there is Craft Queen of course who I just love love love). I’m super excited about being on the teams and will be sure to keep you in the loop with the goings on.

So, this leads me to my sad news, I have made the tough decision to step down from my DT commitments at BITW… I never never thought I would do it, but Mum always said, if you can’t do it properly, don’t do it at all… and 4 Design Team spots is too many so tough decisions needed to be made.  I have also read fellow scrapper’s blogs who get too involved in scrapping and over commit only to burn out and quit the hobby altogether and I most certainly don’t want that!!!  I will definitely continue to stop by the blog, it is such an inspirational place to visit and I hope you do too.

Bird is the Word "Future"

Hi everyone,
Have you all had your fill of Easter goodies yet?  I put in a special request to the Easter bunny this year for a Peanut Brittle egg and was not disappointed!!  Yum! Every bit of it!! Luckily for me I’ve scrapped most of the calories off 🙂
The thing I love about Bird is the Word is the opportunity to use words in my layouts I never would, and this weeks word was one of those opportunities.  The challenge word is “Future” and initially all I could think of was “Back to the Future”!!  I sat on it for a bit then came up with this….
Close ups first, this one is to show off this divine chip painted with Ranger Distress crackle paint then glimmer misted… I’m going to be collecting all of these paints over the next little bit!!
Ribbon is Martha Stewart which I picked up at Spotlight out of the bargain bin… a bottle of glitter and huge roll of ribbon for $2.00 – I know!! 
The large flowers are Resin from the wonderful Handmade Halo.

Purple Pumpkin Design Team Call out

Hi Everyone,

Happy Easter to you all, I sure hope you get some time to create over the next few days, we have quite a lot of family “stuff” planned, but I will be sure to be staying up late to create 🙂

Today I wanted to share with you a layout I created for the Purple Pumpkin DT call out, I thought I’d give this one a go; I just love their stuff and there is really nothing like a hand made embellishment to finish off a layout!

Love the colours in this one!

Lots of Purple Pumpkin goodies in this one, the buttons of course and that funky denim flower was the perfect fit!  I’m really happy with the background too, it’s fun to get messy!!
Back soon with the latest Bird is the Word challenge, I just finished it tonight!!
