Here is the yummy challenge inspiration…

and here is my creation – I had a play with some Studio Calico wood veneer banner pieces which are pretty cool!
and the full layout, title is “Sugar & Spice” and there is hidden journalling… love showing the funny and cheeky side of Caitlin.
I’d love it if you could play along and be sure to check out the other DT inspiration here.  You have to be in it to win it and up for grabs is a huge prize pack, the chance to be on the DT team as our guest and enter today to get 10% off your order… check out the details on the blog link above.
This one was ohh so much fun as I said, I am really loving grey right now!!

Shades

Hi there everyone

I am so sorry I have not been around much of late, no visiting blogs or posts I’m afraid – just a bunch of DT work getting done; not that I am complaining for one second!!  Promise I will get to all of your blogs soon!

I do have a Purple Pumpkin share for you today.  A couple of my most fav photos of Caitlin – not that they are the best technically or super sweet, BUT they sooo capture how she was feeling at the time and the joy is priceless!!

Close ups first, love these Purple Pumpkin heart buttons.

I also used the shades as part of the embellishments on my layout…  Thanks to Natalie Elphinstone for the inspiration; she uses her girls art work on layouts and I thought why not include the actual glasses!!

Close up of the XL Purple Pumpkin button… and all the layers

and here is the full layout…check out her smiles!!  Journalling says “Her future’s so bright, She’s just got to wear… Shades”

Thanks for popping by today and leaving your comments, especially when I have not been returning the favour!!
Oh yeah, and be sure to check out the new additions to the Purple Pumpkin store.

Scrap Friends August Sketch

Happy start of the month everyone!!  Time for a new sketch at Scrap Friends and this month was (I must admit) a bit of a challenge; Mainly because I just do not put 5 photos on a layout!!! Eeek… but you know what, that is the whole point isn’t it, to challenge ourselves and grow in our craft and learn something new, AND, now that it is finished, I am really happy with how it turned out, so I guess you can teach an “old dog” new tricks… hehehe

Here is the sketch, for my take I rotated to the left 45 degrees.
Of course, some close ups first… very happy with my colours in this one.
and more close ups!!
and finally the full layout 🙂  OK, I did only fit 4, but one is 6×4 so that counts for 2 right???  My main problem is that I don’t really like to shrink my photos, and that is what makes it hard.
Hope you like, and I can’t wait to see what you create and what I can learn from you all!

August Monthly challenge for Purple Pumpkin

Did you know it is Purple Pumpkins 2nd Birthday??  Well, as part of the birthday celebrations this month we are ‘mixing’ up a change for the challenge.  Instead of the sketch, we are making a birthday cake, a Purple Pumpkin birthday cake that is!!!

Each of the DT have come up with an ingredient to add to create your layout and they are:
1.  Paint
2.  Use a Button
3.  Add some twine
4.  Include some fussy cutting
5.  Spray Ink
6.  A flower
7.  A doily
8.  Use 2 different alphas in your title

Of course you also need to use at least one Purple Pumpkin embellishment, but hey, that’s super easy!!

and here is my take:

You can see all of the ingredients, except perhaps the spray ink (aka Glimmer mist) which is on the main flower to add some sparkle.
Really hope you have the chance to play along.

Christmas in July Purple Pumpkin share

Hi Everyone,
Seriously, August already, what is going on here!!  Someone said to me just the other day, oh look, 5 months until Christmas!! Boy did she get a look! Eeeep!!
Now you will all know just how much I love my Purple Pumpkin and it is nothing for me to use one or two buttons on a page well, today’s has a  total of 5 buttons on it!
I’ve mixed the spotty button with a floral print and mixed and matched the white and red and see the large red flower there, yummy Manor House.
I’ve used them to complete my flower clusters and the heart button (below) I used to balance out the layout and feature near my title.
and here is the full layout.  This one was taken a few Christmas’s ago now, 2008.   I know, I’m a bit behind – I get nervous scrapping Christmas for some reason.  I think it’s the pressure of choosing one or two shots to capture such an important day and doing them justice, showing them off but not loosing the thoughts and ideas behind them…. maybe that’s why I am more of an “everyday moment” scrapper rather than an “event” scrapper… anywho… I digress…
Here is the full layout 🙂
Thanks again for popping by and a special thank you to all you lovelies who share some love, you all know it means so much 🙂
Hugs
